Chicken breast the food of gains.

Hello FitQuestors it’s me R. Today I’ll be talking about good old chicken breast. My staple protein food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. What I like about chicken breast is you can have it in anyway you like and with anything you want; Be it with rice, pasta or bread it’s a versatile source of protein for me. What I usually do with mine is I marinate it first in lemon, garlic and ginger for an hour or more, then I keep it in the fridge inside  zip lock bags.  L taught me that neat trick for prepping up meals. Then I just grill it on the pan until cooked and have it with anything I want.

What about you guys? How do you like your chicken breasts cooked?

Back to the old grind

Went back to gym a few days ago its a rather cheap o’l gym that I can afford for now,

basically just simple racks and benches, the plates look chipped and have been used a lot, or rather they could be really old. Its pretty much the gym I’ve been going to ever since I started lifting but I will go to a better one once money is in the pocket.

the thing I like about this gym is its rather affordable well dirt cheap if you will

a session will cost around 20 php. yup 20 pesos for an all day session if you want.

tho the place could be better. But it will have to make do for now.

Form is everything

Hello fellow readers it’s R. Today let’s talk about something that I was never aware of doing during the very first time I placed my hand on the cold unforgiving iron the day I got my skinny butt to the gym; And that’s form.

Before I was with L, I go to a really cheap gym instructor there didn’t really teach anything except basic lifting,  fast forward into 5 months into lifting I was gaining significant progress we could call em baby’s first gains. Now another fast forward to the present day. The first time I set foot in gym with L we did a few moments of cardio then we hit the squat rack I was up first going for heavy and I swear L made this face the moment my ass bent over.

She stopped me at my first rep, telling me my form was horrible. “I  thought you lifted? Lemme show you how to properly lift.”  I felt like Jon Snow that day.  I knew nothing. All the exercises I’ve been doing have been all executed with improper form. L corrected every nook and cranny of my body to perform the correct way of performing each and every exercise we had to do that day. It was grueling, and I felt the tension and ache as lactic acid crept in stronger than what I’ve been experiencing before L corrected my form. In the end of the gym session, my body felt like it was ran over by a truck of painful enlightenment. Then the D.O.M.’s kicked in and it was like ache city all over my body.

L’s knowledge and know-how of lifting taught me a lot about proper form. She still corrects me to this day.  I’m glad to have her by my side ❤

Road to gains

G’day readers it’s me R, L’s partner in crime and shenanigans, Lemme introduce myself in the best way I can .This would be my first time blogging, please bear with me.

I’m your average Joe in his 20’s with not so average hobbies, I have an affinity to  the odd and wonderful world of anything that has scale and more than two feet. Yup I love reptiles and creepy crawlies. For the most part I take care of a lot of reptiles who I consider as my friends some of em I take with me whenever I go out and do something. Most of the time we just stay at home and relax. My other hobbies include cosplay  though I mostly cosplay characters opposite to my gender which I pull off needless to say.

Meeting L, changed the way I do things normally, it’s nice to build a life with someone special. That being said this fitness blog is one of those small things included to build ourselves better and for each other. the road may be long but it’s the journey that counts.
